The Foundation was developed in 1999 to help these older adults achieve their long-term care goals through the Care Coordination program. 73 out of 88 counties in Ohio have Senior Service Levies to aid in expanding services to older adults. Of the four counties Direction Home Akron Canton serves (Portage, Stark, Summit, and Wayne), none of them benefit from the funding of a Senior Service Levy. A large percentage of the Foundation's funds go directly towards the advocacy efforts of influencing public policy pertaining to older adults and their well-being, including Senior Service Levy efforts. Donations Donations from individuals, such as yourself, play a huge role in the efforts of the Direction Home Akron Canton Foundation. One hundred percent of your donations will go to the aforementioned causes. The ultimate goal of the Foundation is to ensure proper long-term care options for older adults of all ages. Your donations help make this possible. Click here to make a tax deductible donation to the Foundation!
