Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2019
There has been a great focus on the increasing senior population in recent years, preparing everyone for the increase in need for services and supports to care for those who have cared before. As the population and need for resources increases, so does the number of cases of elder abuse and/or neglect.
This year, on Elder Abuse Awareness Day, we want to share some very important information about what constitutes abuse and neglect, how to recognize it, and what to do when confronted by it. The National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care has provided some very useful information on this topic. Please CLICK HERE to read the entire article.
If you or an older adult you know is suffering abuse or neglect, please contact the Direction Home Elder Rights and Ombudsman department at 800.421.7277 ext. 8201.
