Embracing differences and balancing different perspectives has always been a challenge, but now more than ever, we not only need to work together, but we need to learn how to help one another, and the workplace thrive. Define social and self-awareness, and recognize their impact on clients/patients and the work environment. Identify obstacles to achieving supportive work environments. Learn skills and communication that encourages inclusion, connection, and the expression of different views.

Objectives:

  • Assess and inventory self and social awareness skills as healthcare professionals and social service providers
  • Define self and social awareness. Learn how self and social awareness skills help build and maintain healthy client/patient relationships, and provide insights into others’ needs, values, and concerns
  • Identify strengths, manage limitations, and recognize the value of both for impacting and influencing client/patient support, care, and outcomes.
  • Learn skills to communicate and achieve intentions and goals that promote thriving, inclusive, supportive work environments
