Direction Home Akron Canton Area Agency on Aging and Disabilities is proud and excited to reveal sponsorship opportunities for 2021. As we look back on the challenges overcome in the past year and ahead to aspirations for today and beyond, we could not be more grateful for your guidance, support, and generosity.

This year's sponsorships will help the Direction Home Akron Canton Foundation accomplish two goals: to continue providing care and support for the most vulnerable in our communities, and to uplift the voices of our partners and stakeholders. Your sponsorship will go far no matter which level you choose; funds are designated to advocacy efforts and assistance for those who need it most to remain happy and healthy in the place they want to call home. Furthermore, your contribution will grant you positive brand awareness among our target audiences. The three events eligible for sponsorship in 2021 can help you reach potential partners, referrals, consumers, and more through unique marketing efforts.

One of the best ways to show your support and network your organization is through one of our sponsorship opportunities. With several levels for each event, there is surely an option that meets your needs and embodies your vision. Thank you for your continued consideration as we navigate the future of aging together!

About the Foundation

The Direction Home Akron Canton Foundation was created with the mission of enabling older adults not eligible for government assistance to remain independent and secure at home through access to a variety of supportive services. The Foundation was developed in 1999 to help these older adults achieve their long-term care goals through the Care Coordination program.

Aging is an Art Form 2022

"A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that wordly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful..." -Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

As we age, our knowledge of and recognition of the beautiful only increases. Art has been shown to have a positive effect on brain health and in reducing caregiver stress. Aging is an Art Form is an opportunity for older adults to explore their creative instincts and learn new techniques from professionals. Pieces created in the virtual classes and by older adults in the community will be displayed in a virtual exhibit. For more information on the Aging is an Art Form program, contact Lori Smith, Training Coordinator at lsmith@dhad.org or 330-899-5255.

2021 Fall Conference

Bringing together professionals and leaders from healthcare, social services, and public administration, the Fall Conference examines the issues, practices, and discoveries affecting the lives of the older adults and individuals with disabilities we all serve. The conference is a virtual event on two half-days featuring national and local experts on the social determinants of health and domains of livability. Attendees have the opportunity to discuss important issues, prepare for the future, and celebrate successes in the field with the people advancing the cause.
