Innovation is one of the pillars of the new Direction Home Akron Canton Foundation. In fact, one of the driving forces behind the mission and vision of the Foundation was to help Direction Home become a new leader in the aging field in a way that's never been achieved before. When we think of "innovation," we think of what's groundbreaking, out-of-the-box, and solution-oriented, which is why we are seeking and distributing funding that fosters partnerships, entrepreneurship and returns on investment while creating innovative solutions that optimize aging.
Request for Applications (RFA)
The DHAD Foundation is pleased to announce a Call for Proposals for innovative projects, programs and solutions that improve the aging experience for older adults and people with disabilities, caregivers, and communities throughout our region.
The Foundation will award proposals up to $25,000 and seeks forward-thinking ideas that address meaningful community needs, strengthen access to supportive services, and create a measurable impact. Proposed project should demonstrate the potential to improve quality of life, advance innovation and help individuals age with greater independence, health, connection, and dignity.

Applications must be submitted by October 16th, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET.

• Review Period: Applications will be reviewed following the close of the application cycle.
• Notification of Next Steps: Applicants will be contacted after the review process is complete.
