Donor Support Changes to the Direction Home Akron Canton Foundation

SUMMIT COUNTY – Last year, Direction Home Akron Canton Foundation unveiled a new mission and vision with three new focuses: improving access to essential community services, creating innovative solutions that optimize aging, and investing in Direction Home as a leader for aging network professionals to provide the best quality of care. While the mission, vision, and focus shifted in 2025, the new Foundation model remains driven by the support of donors and sponsors.

Previously, each annual Foundation Campaign was marked by a raffle drawing period. After careful consideration and analysis of donor trends, the Direction Home Akron Canton Foundation has decided to forgo hosting a raffle drawing to provide a wider array of giving opportunities for both individual community members and sponsoring organizations.

For individuals who wish to continue to support the Direction Home Akron Canton Foundation, there are multiple options:

  • One-time donations or recurring monthly donations may be made at https://form-renderer-app.donorperfect.io/give/dhad-foundation. Any donations may also be mailed as checks to 1949 Town Park Boulevard, Uniontown, Ohio 44685 (made out to Direction Home Akron Canton Foundation).

  • A new “Putting for a Purpose” indoor mini golf fundraising event will take place in October with a limited number of registrations available. Register at  https://www.dhad.org/events/putting-purpose

  • Interactive giving to the Foundation will be available for donors during the Foundation Auction on November 30th - December 3rd, 2026 (dhad.org/events).  

  • Individuals may create a legacy of care by considering Direction Home Akron Canton Foundation in their estate planning. 

For organizations looking to support Direction Home's work, sponsorships are available for the putt-putt fundraiser, Aging is an Art Form program, and annual Awards Ceremony. Organizations may also participate in the auction by donating items, gift cards, raffle baskets, and/or activities.
