AARP defines a Livable Community as one that is safe and secure. It offers choices in where to live and how to get around. And it equitably serves residents of all ages, ability levels, incomes, races, ethnicities, and other backgrounds. Livable communities: 

• enhance personal independence
• allow residents to remain in their homes and communities as they age; and
• provide opportunities for residents of all ages, ability levels, and backgrounds to engage fully in civic, economic, and social life

This year our keynote speaker is Gil Penalosa, Founder and Chair of 8-80 Cities and Ambassador of World Urban Parks. Mr. Penalosa and his team work tirelessly to build communities around the world that are great for anyone 8 to 80 and anywhere in between. Want to know more? The Foundation was developed in 1999 to help these older adults achieve their long-term care goals through the Care Coordination program.
