Now, don’t be scared. If technology is not your thing but you are curious about how new advances will affect the daily lives of our clients and what we do as mental health professionals - then this presentation is for you. In today’s society where almost everyone is glued to their cell phone and you can hardly apply for a job without using the internet, it is so important for us to start conversations about what this will mean for our work with clients. About the Speaker: Staci Hayes, Ph.D., LPCC
Staci Hayes, Ph.D., LPCC received her Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision in 2019 from Kent State University where she taught classes in both Counseling and Human Development and Family Studies. She was honored with being awarded the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award from the Education Health and Human Services Department in 2019. As a counselor educator, she has a continued commitment to challenge students and create enthusiasm and joy for the profession she is passionate about. She has held positions at both Kent State and John Carroll Universities. Dr. Hayes has a personal goal to seek training opportunities and mentorship that diversifies her ability to incorporate an understanding of how social, economic, and political inequities directly impact students and their ability to integrate and experience learning.
Dr. Hayes is a licensed professional clinical counselor, and her clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, families, career counseling, college students, severe and persistent mental illness and forensic populations. She has also worked across 4 school districts as a school-based consultant.
Dr. Hayes is in the process of founding a non-profit organization focused on mental health and wellness in the Metaverse with DEI. Dr. Hayes seeks to investigate these concepts and provide actionable and practical applications for mental health professionals, education, supervision, and programming. Dr. Hayes loves playing outside with her husband, children, and dogs. She also enjoys kayaking and watching movies. Dr. Hayes can be reached at shayes@metavoicefoundation.io
REGISTRATION & CANCELLATION INFORMATION:
Class sizes are limited, so register early. Classes with low registrations may be canceled. If the class is canceled or moved, participants will be contacted via email at least 24 hours in advance.
Classes start and end on time. To ensure a quality experience for all, please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the class start time and find a seat. CEU credits will be adjusted 0.25 credit hours for every 15 minutes not in attendance; adjusted certificates will be emailed to participants within 3 business days after the training. Hard copies of certificates will be mailed upon request.
It is difficult to control room temperature to everyone's comfort level. We suggest you dress in layers that can be adaptable to warm and cool temperatures.
For auditing purposes, arrival and departure times and signature are required on attendance sheets.
